The mother suffered serious injuries and is currently in a coma. Every day, innocent lives are taken by senseless acts of violence. Along with the killings, there is also a lot of trauma and heartache that follows. This was the case for a 5-year-old Ukrainian girl, who was crushed to death by a driver in Italy. The girl’s family fled the war-torn country and arrived in Europe with the hope of beginning a new life.

But, their dreams were cut short when their daughter was killed. All because she was trying to cross the street. This tragedy highlights the need for safe crossings for pedestrians and how important it is to have effective traffic laws in place. Poklonskaya and her family had fled the war in their home country and were seeking refuge in Italy. Unfortunately, their luck ran out when Poklonskaya was crushed by the driver of a truck whilst crossing a road. Her death has sparked outrage throughout the international community, and calls for better refugee policies have been made.
